In 2008, Chan Yoke Pui finally secured his own standalone restaurant to pursue his dream of having his own branded Char Siew Wanton Noodles. He named the restaurant “Chan Meng Kee”. “Chan” is his surname. “Meng Kee” is the reminiscence of his favorite childhood Char Siew stall. He believes that the name “Chan Meng Kee” symbolizes the combination of a heavenly tasting char siew from two generations.
